In my family, we take pictures… of everything.  And so… on this, our 5th birthday, I insisted on a family picture.  So here ya go!

Happy Birthday To Us!

Well gang, it’s been a strange ride, but we’ve made it to our fifth birthday!  Five years ago today, we performed our very first evening of Suddenly Hamlet improv.

Man… that was a LOOOONG time ago.  Since then we have performed 107 improv shows at the Warehouse Theatre; we have done private gigs for Carolina First, The Greenville County Youth Orchestra, Bridges for a Brighter Future, North Carolina Destination Imagination, Greenville Forward, Youth Greenville Forward; we have taught three series of improv workshops and a Shakespeare series as well; and we’ve performed eight scripted comedies (including one written by our own Jayce Tromsness).  We’ve introduced online improv on our facebook page, we’ve blogged like crazy… dude… this is just a lot more than most five-year-olds I know.  I mean, most five-year-olds I know don’t even have their own website.  Lame, other five-year-olds!  And while other five-year-olds are finger painting and eating crayons, we’ve got beautifully designed posters and gorgeous sets.  Eat that, other five-year-olds! (though we do eat the occasional crayon.)

Anyway, thank you so much for the last five years… and I look forward to mocking ten-year-olds in another five!
