Today in Blogging

Okay, I don’t have anything particularly blogworthy today… except that I think I’m going to have most of our clips from this weekend’s Actors’ Fear up by the end of the day… so that’s kinda cool.  Thanks again to Michele and David for playing with us, and to Caroline for snogging!

Of course, there are plenty of completely un-blogworthy things to write about… so I’ll go for those:

  • This weekend marked another big first for a woman… the first woman to win an IndyCar race.  Danica Patrick won some big left turning race in Japan this weekend.  I’m sure there are plenty of Nascar loving Bubbas all over the world who just aren’t sure whether to feel inferior, pissed off, proud, or just turned on.
  • PS - don’t you love how much the US likes to tout itself as this great advanced country, but we’re freaking out over having a woman as a presidential candidate when countries around the world have had women in head positions for decades?  I’m just saying.
  • We’ve all heard about the earthquake in the midwest last week.  And apparently there was an aftershock this weekend.  But I signed into my email today to see some very balanced and responsible headline positing that there could be an even bigger quake on the way to the midwest!  Ya know, I also might fall down the stairs tomorrow.  And there might be someone who does something bad next week.  In fact, a gigantic meteor just might go ahead and obliterate everything next month.  Why don’t you report on that while you’re at it?
  • Apparently Jimmy Carter is in talks with Hamas.  I don’t really get that.
  • Coming tomorrow… yet another damn primary.  Hey… at least it’s not a debate, right?
  • I think super hot First Lady Hopeful Cindy McCain is supposed to be on The View this week… proving once again that all of our presidential decisions should be made based on what the candidates’ wives think about View-worthy topics like shoes and Rosie O’Donnell (sorry Bill… no boys allowed in this clubhouse!).
  • There Goes the Bride has one more weekend coming up at Greenville Little Theatre.  Make sure to get over there!  Two of the performers, Ryan and Shane, will be in DG performances this summer.  And the rest of the performers are just plain swell.  So go!  Laugh!
  • Desperate Houseflies only has a couple more weeks at The Cafe and Then Some before they start the next show.  So if you haven’t yet had a chance to see Miss Traysie rock some monologues and awesome wigs… then get over there!
  • Make sure to call ahead for your tickets to Seussical over at the SC Children’s Theatre.  Featuring our own Jared Johnson as The Cat in the Hat… it’s going to be one heck of a good time… even if the makeup is a little scary (It creeps me out when you take away the shape of a person’s nose… and their face is just gone!   I don’t even recognize the boy!  But this is my issue… not yours.  Enjoy the show!)
