The Day I Hated Politics Less

Stephen Colbert made a big announcement last night… and now I think everyone is just sitting around saying - with a variety of emotions behind the same sentence - "Is he serious?"  Personally, I think it’s frickin’ great!  Stephen Colbert is running for president… on the South Carolina ballot.  With his historically active fan base, I think it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that he could really make a dent in this election.  Or at the very least, make it a little more fun.  I’m already so turned off by the 3,000 some-odd candidates who have been yacking at us since the mid-term elections, that I am oh so ready for something a little bit different.  Someone who might, just maybe, stir up the conversation, get people talking, thinking, caring… I know… radical concepts in modern day politics, but I remain hopeful.  So I reached out on the Indecision 2008 Blog and offered The Distracted Globe’s endorsement to the Colbert campaign.  With Comedy and Justice for all!!!

And hey… he looks pretty good behind that presidential seal, doesn’t he?
